Barry's MK 2.5 NB2 25,000 miles artic edition

Barry came to me before china virus lock down with is newly found 05 MK 2.5 NB2 artic edition for some pointers and advice on preserving her for the future and with 25K on the clock she was in good knick and would not take much to sort, it was obvious from looking at the engine bay ,from the furring/oxidation that it at not seen much use and stored for long periods getting damp, which proved to be the case when Barry throw the keys at me after lock down to sort.
On strip down it became obvious that she had indeed had been used and stored away wet and muddy, but not always in a garage from the leafs that came out from the behind the front wings, which rang even more so with the wild life under there, but i have dealt with far worse.
Most of it is old dried mud and surface rust (common place) but there were a couple of areas that did need the flappy disc and grinder, bad patches flattened and treated and paint, now onto the rest , i have also masked up my lines...

Well the Mx was all prepped and undersealed, cavity wax in all the wax sections and put back together, polished the headlights and collected by a very happy man, engine bay clean, service,water pump cam belt and seals are recommended , fresh tyres, alignment,brakes sorting correct, better zorst system and crap gaurds are on the list of to do's and wish list...and just a personal thing simply because it will look better, front nose cone spots/fogs....

So he was mad enough to throw the keys at me again, this time for the engine side and service items...
So water pump and bits, cam and crank seals etc, rocker seal, coolant flush, belts etc and all fresh service items and fluids....

I have missed an update? the brakes were also sorted from scratch for her, i will find pics asap.

So in August I did calipers, discs and pads, full strip, clean and rebuild....

Amazing work.. I need to do this on my recent purchase mk2.5 exclusive, 1.6 NBFL 2003) and give it a thorough check..
Off topic because I rent a place on residential/ farm/business unit in a rural area. That party tents idea looks great for car work. How big is the one you're using and is there enough room to work in the rain etc.? I just need something where I can leave the car if it's in a "work in progress state".. welding etc .. can you anchor it to the floor? I saw these
.they look ideal!

It was yes... Things have moved on though. Now I have access to a Shipping container..ideal!
