Petes roadster has a rattle just as he hits 2,000/3,000 revs and goes, and as he comes back down through the revs, it comes back? sometimes even at tick over he can hear it.

Sounds like an exhaust heat shield.
Could be the one above the back-box that protects the boot floor or over the manifold in the engine bay but my money would be on the cat heat shield.

Yeah it turned out to be the heat shield tag welds had come away at the bottom of the down pipe, so he went to his local auto factors a bought a exhaust U bolt to hold it back tight in place, the rattle has gone.
