I have a 1.8 '95 Uk spec (manual gearbox, windows and steering!) Mx5 with the button type fob immobilizer.

Panic over guys! Just found my key and fob in the house!!!!! (under all the shoes in the shoe cupboard - must'ave dropped them there).

The question remains - if it is a factory fitted (which seems likely), to change the locks inc ignition barrel, will i have to replace the ECU?

Ok so I successfully got into the locked boot to retrieve my missing keys (many thanks to M-m for the good advice) - but they weren't there!!!! Its got early ones with detachable headrests which i'd like to replace with the later type with integrated headrest (and speaker).
