Collected the old girl on Saturday from Carls at CBS Autos in Nelson, bumped into Dan with his B2 giving hassles with the gearbox and Bruce and Dom with an ECU fault that another Co had co*ked up, there was only two minor niggles with the paint which were sorted there and then because i am picky and Carl knows it x, but she is stunning and better than new the paint is like glass,All the door dents are gone and the nose cone number plate plinth holes which i asked for, new screen in blue tint fitted at the same time to match the side windows with a OE rubber windscreen trim, first time i have really drove her and all the bits i have done have come together gelled fantastically , what a lovely drive home with the hood down in the sun and 2 degrees lol, she is a joy to drive and feels like new on the M65 and M6 south bound.
I will post pics of just how lovely she looks once i wash off all the salt from the drive home...
Now when she first turned up she arrived with Tracy's hard top on, which we removed ,pulled up the hood and looked over the skin to see that it was newly fitted and left it like that and put one of our hard tops on while i worked on her, when Carl turned up to collect her we had removed the Hard top to go on the blue MK 2 V.S that needed it with the hood being shattered and not water tight.
When we collected her at Carls i noticed condensation on the inside of the rear screen, and made a mental note to check the rain rail as i also noticed that the head lining was not fitted correct as i drop the hood .
Wow, i would love to meet the w*nker that fitted this roof, sorted the head lining i left Daryl to start the strip down to check the rain rail while i replaced the driver side electric window regulator that exploded in the door ( never seen this or had it happen before) on the Blue MK 2 V.S so she will be water tight (pics on the other build thread)
Once Daryl had remover the rear deck carpet ,10mm nuts and support brackets we separated the skin from the rain rail, never seen anything like it I will post pics and a vid in the next post, well a very good second hand one was refitted and everything cleaned, greased and all bolted back into place nice and water tight how it should of been in the first place, we have left the rear deck sound proofing out to dry off which will be refitted once dry again ,found just in time...
Dug out a MK 1 Jap stand off number plinth holder bracket and refitted the number plate...added the HRW relay in the boot and made up a HRW window loom the socket, having trouble finding the later push switch type switch atm..
So left to do...

1) Cavity wax *****DONE****

2) Fit new door weather strips ( not cheap things)****DONE****

3) Fit new windscreen trim scuttle screw caps 5 x round and 2 x oval***DONE***

4) Re lube the electric windows ***DONE***

5) Re set washer jets **DONE***

6) Clean and hoover the interior with so little dust from the sprayers it is refreshing to see****DONE*****

7) Engine bay re vamp just to nudge the very little sprayers dust off with is minimal and again is so refreshing to see****DONE****

8) wash and wax the exterior.. ***DONE***

9) have a new factory build sticker made for the B post... ***Will post on***

10) second key cut.**** cannot get one local ???****

11) investigate direction on the heater ***DONE***

12) Clean and reseal the blower to the A/C****DONE***

13) final check over and phone for collection. ***DONE***

14) change the push HRW push type switch connection to a rocker type switch ****DONE****

15) Meister suspension fitted pre production units***DONE***

16) miscellaneous items... ***ALL DONE***

Would i use Carl and his sprayer again.......well after the finish and attention to detail this body guy as gone to with all the right bolts, screws and fixing all in the correct place and very minimal rubbing down dust anywhere , no orange peel on the underside of the nose cone or rear bumper, no feathered edges from masking tape, no runs or deep rubbing down marks under the lacquer, no cracks or blisters, no over spray, no return journey's to correct issues.... the paint as been taken to the panel ends, this painter knows his Mx5/roadsters, so 100%, you get what you pay for and my black MK 1 V.S II will be going to him to correct the paint from the last Co that did not have the same attention to detail as this painter, so will now cost me double the amount to get her correct thanks to the last spray Co and ok if you stand 100 yards away.
So Thank you Carl for going out of your way to help me buddy and get the cosmetics sorted on the B2,,,,it is just what she needed to be a show roadster.
As i say all pics to follow in the next posts, Andrew you will love her man, get her on show please , she deserves it bud.

As is always the case, you notice something and it expands into a bigger sort....
On the way back i noticed that the direction for the heater would not directed to cab/face....so out came the glove box to investigate...the direction cable had popped out of its holding clip so couple of seconds and sorted but then i decided to check the seal on the clips that seal the blower to the A/C and A/C to the workings...
One was shot so off it comes for resealing and refitting..
Washer jets sorted..
Electric window mechs,re- greased and lubed up, plus as you do with cans in hand... went around everything else ..

They are not chrome Andy , they are highly polished, the 10th anniversary had the same thing just with the MK 2 rims... it is something you could do yourself and then lacquer them like a stay bright.

I have done the HRW switch, and converted it to a rocker type rather than the type II push type, but left the push type plug in place so if a switch is found at a later date it is a simple case of unplug and plug the new one in, i am not a lover of cutting plugs out...

So cavity waxing the box sections all done, Fitting the pre production meister RS 1 road suspension all done (she sits lovely,,,sorry the stance is good), engine bay revamped, interior all cleaned,
Few little fettles here and there, not far off finished just a couple of little items to sort and all good and I can hand over the keys to the owners that have adopted her ....
