Copy parts from a Seller on the Bay of E, be aware

Postby Mazda Mender » Fri Dec 06, 2019 8:10 am

I bought a part from a seller on the bay of E advertising a Jass performance off set number plate bracket etc , item arrived super quick, but on opening it it up it was clear from the off set that this was not a Jass performance product, it arrived in a jiffy bag wrapped in shrink wrap ,not bubble wrap, sealed and a jass sticker with a part number on?
So i unwrapped the bits, off set seamed ok but is a black textured dull paint to a Jass gloss powder coated one ( yes i have one on another roadster)....then i take a look at the bits,,,,it arrived with two bolts and nuts and two small washers and a oval disc that looks like it might be galvanized??? the disc is not long enough or wide enough for it to be bolted to a OE tie down eye and the bolts etc are steel ( S/steel on the Jass product) with no large anchor washer for the underneath of the towing eye to make it tight and secure, he has copied the kit that is meant to be bolted to the Jass performance bracket by removing the OE tie down eye, so this copy will never be a straight fit ever straight from them/him???

The Co? is or seems the be based on the bay of e, the chap seems to have thick skin and is also copying a lot of others parts/accessories that others have worked hard on to design and his cop out phrase is " it's not branded" which makes this ok to leech so that means it is open season chaps on all your products by them/him? to copy .

They /He as since removed the blatant use of Jass performance name from the description and picture, and is making known to me that it is "not a direct copy" which it clearly is for a number of reasons

Co??? is Krmparts which i am sure is a bay of e cop out name....https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/krmparts?_tr ... 7675.l2559 KRMparts

Address:
KRMparts
337 Valley Road

I have no idea how he is getting 100% feed back, because even with this copy it is not a direct fit, i will be leaving feed back, and i wait to see if this is removed???I have also contacted Vlad about this and Andrew ( Autolinkmx5 ) as he is also copying his products which he as even had the nerve to re use Andrews part number and full description..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-offset ... 2479639623

Watch what you are buying with your hard earned people, the leeches are not just in China..

Duly noted.

There are a lot of cheap copies out there for all makes and models.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

Life is a journey, best travelled topless in an MX5!!

Thanks Wayne. Clearly another one, who will never see an MX5 in his life, but wants to feed his children without going to work.
Great factual article and warning, referencing for google the counterfeit business, his name and auctions.
I should probably make here a topic warning about all illegal eBay copies. For some of them I am having "Beware-Of" auctions in my eBay account:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/jassperformance
(my only feedback is from the "business"a above, who sold copy of my product under my name to me)

Return to “Jass performance”
