This is just to show the differences between the Exhaust gaskets from the MK 1 NA 1989 to the 2005 NB 2005, info was submitted from Andrew at Autolinkmx5...


MK 1 NA 1989 to 1997....
Exhaust gaskets.
On the Mk1 1.6 & 1.8 manifold to downpipe joint are all the same (3-stud) and it looks like this:-

On the mk1 1.6 and early 1.8 (all models with the 375mm cat) have this downpipe to front of cat gasket, studs are approx 85mm apart centre to centre and centre hole is 50mm diameter:-

The rear of cat gasket for all mk1 with 375 or 440mm cat is like this. Studs are approx 95mm apart and the centre bore is 57mm. Note that this gasket also fits the front of cat to downpipe joint on mk1 1.8 with 440mm cat only:-

ON the late UK mk1 models with the 475mm cat have these ring type gaskets front and rear of the cat:-

MK 2/2.5 NB 1998 to 2005.....
On the Mk2 & Mk2.5 all models have this manifold to downpipe gasket:-
