I'm not looking forward to this so much now. It's going to be wet most of the day and very cold. Not ideal in a car with loads of torque and semi-slick tyres :auto-swerve:

Nor me, not bothered about the cold but not happy with the wet, and its still persisting down. Get the feeling that I may be a bit of a rolling chicane.

Brands with OC this Friday 7th Dec

Postby Lazza » Fri Dec 07, 2012 7:41 pm

Well that was fun. Eventually.

Way too cold & wet in the morning so nobody had any grip, especially me with my A048 track tyres. I think I was the slowest driver there early on!

Just before lunch it started to dry out so grip improved a little but it was still very slippy.

After lunch the track had dried out a lot and it continued to dry out through the afternoon. I was planning to leave early so just did one bumper session. I think I was out there for over 45 minutes! Finally I could get some heat (warm anyway) into the tyres and I started to compete on a more level playing field with the cars I really should bad chasing and could keep up with the 911s, Monaro Bathurst 630, Nissan GTR, RX8s and more importantly the MX5 track cars including Rodders in his Mk3 MAX5 racer.

I do have some pics but they were rushed and a bit rubbish. I'll sort out the best of them later.

Good to meet Flea in person and a number of other great friends. A good day in the end after a very iffy start.
