This will be fixed, but I need to see the forum is going to be successful before I get too involved in hours of coding. :)

sponsors didn't like it.
Advertising competition.
Feel free to make recommendations if people ask, but just not in a separate category.

"Links" seems to have gone too...

Did the sponsors really complain about the recommended garages section? That's a bit harsh. We don't all live near them. I had considered posting a recommendation for MX5 Heaven (they are a sponsor for our track car) but I could see that would be a direct competitor so thought better of it.

On the Wheels in Motion forum they allow recommendations for anyone. They will even recommend other garages themselves as a service to owners.

:text-imwithstupid: Going back to when M-m started hi Fix It Fairies search on the OC I assumed this forum would be based on the bones of that i.e. good solid information, tips and advice along with details of those willing to help out whether they be us mere mortals with bags of spanners and enthusiasm or professional businesses such as The MX5 Restorer, Muppet, Dr etc. As a sponsor they need to understand and realise that other companies may well (will) be mentioned over and over, but in reality because of distances involved and specialist areas they are not in direct competition, and can often compliment each other.

mentioning is not a problem :) but separate forum basically advertising is. Dont worry about mentioning any names you like on here. You wont get shouted out if its useful
