Keyless entry

Postby pollytobias49 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 7:50 pm

I have, as well as a Mk1, a Nissan Qashqai with keyless entry that does not open the car doors when the entry button on the door handles is pressed. It is an intermittent problem as it does work some times. I have changed the battery in the key fob many times so it isn't that the battery is dead. The nearest I can get to finding out why it is intermittent is that it is worse on a cold day than a warm day. By the way this also happens when starting the engine without the key, which is the normal way to start the car engine. When this happens, I have to open the key fob to release the key with which to start the engine. I am hoping some one in this club has an answer as no one else on the various Nissan clubs seam to have an answer. On the plus side, this car will never be used as a getaway car as it is not sure to let you in the car or even start it if you are in a hurry.

Are we talking about the Nissan or the Mazda?
