Mazda Mk2 1999 1600cc, British Racing Green (18J), First registered: 30 July 1999

49.940 miles, all old MOT's, service history etc.

Engine number: 636321

Chassis number: JMZ NB 186200132921

MOT expiry: 31 August 2015.

Fitted as a hillclimb and sprint car but very comfortable as a fast road car. This is an early Mk 2 which has NO chassis rot, car was steam cleaned underneath and then fully injected in all box sections and cavities with “Tetraseal” front to back, there in no rust, door sills and rear sections are absolutely solid as is the rest of the car, has fully functioning air conditioning (recently re-gassed ) it all works !.

Engine: 1600cc, head skimmed 15 thou, fitted with “MazdaSpeed” 4 branch exhaust and sport catalyser, O2 sensor replaced, 64mm throttle body by “Skunk2 Racing” with matching blended and polished inlet manifold, air intake system modified with 75mm “Ramair” cone filter. Large capacity “Driftworks” 42mm alloy radiator, recent new hoses and all drive belts, “IL Motorsport” remote oil filter kit with “K & N” oil filter fitted, running on Castrol GTX, EGR and Carbon canister system removed, “Miata Sport” engine brace fitted, fitted with a new “RPC” racing lightened balanced Chromoloy flywheel (4.5kg) and a brand new “Exedy” clutch assembly (one month ago !) with all new bolts, heater hoses replaced and gearlever boots and nylon cup replaced, adjustable servo brace fitted, Beatrush radiator cooling panel fitted, crank sensor replaced incls spare, “BSP” front subframe brace bar fitted, “Jackson Racing” 8.5mm plug leads.

“IL Motorsport” front splitter just fitted, new discs and “EBC” Red Stuff pads pins and clips recent fit plus front calliper, brand new “KYB” shocks with competition bump stops and new boots all round, uprated “Apex” Springs just fitted, new rear anti roll bar links and poly bushes just fitted both ends and a full castor, camber and track carried out just last week. Car currently running “BMW Mini” wheels (super light) with brand new “Bridgestone” tyres 195x50x15 all round, to include a set of 4 Honda Civic multispoke wheels with “Hankook” Ventus K110 V12 EVO 195x50x15” tyres with only competition use, B1 approved.

Interior: good black interior with recently fitted black leather seats *drivers seat has "IL Motorsport" side bolster support and has a Mk2.5 centre console, “TR Lane” roll cage with brace, standard Mazda mesh windbreak, Nardi leather wheel and Sony sterio system with BMW clock and cubby hole, has “fake” wood effect around centre console, fitted wih “MazdaSport” short shift gear lever and all new bushes, seals and leather gear lever surround with red stitching, matching leather handbrake cover as well, no rips, tears or damage, MX5 logo stainless door kick strips.

Exterior, BRG paint in generally good all round condition, recent Green mohair roof fitted, completely waterproof with heated glass rear window, has front bib fitted with front tow strap through stainless “Zunsport” grill, plus rear towing eye, uprated headlight bulbs - Osram White, carbon effect relacement hardtop fitting plates, car has usual small blemishes, stone chips etc but comes up real good with wash and polish.

Won’t make wild performance claims but since latest mods with the induction work it will keep pace with the likes of 2 litre Golf GTI’s both in acceleration and handling and still gives 30 plus MPG.

I have used it sympathetically in hillclimbs and sprints over the past 3 years and it will achieve sub 58 seconds at Prescott, 49 seconds at Gurston Down, 45 seconds at Shelsley Walsh, Curborough long circuit at 1 minute 12 seconds, even held the MX5 lap record at Castle Combe in 2011, it has lapped the Nurburgring in 9 minutes 17 seconds (with a largish passenger as well !)! So a good competitive car and is scrutineer proof satisfying the Production Sports Car and H2A.1 in BOC and HSA classes.

Included will be a host of spares including spare throttle body and manifolding, throttle cable, braided clutch hose, new clutch slave cylinder kit, standard exhaust manifold, AFM, coil pack standard airbox and inlet system, pair of brand new front coilover shocks and springs plus rear bits as well, plus a box load of sundry bits, PLUS a current valid SPARCO SPRINT size 62 race suit, a Sparco fireproof vest (44” chest), SPARCO race Gloves and race Boots, timing beam breaker and will even include an MSA approved fire extinguisher !.

Also a collection of MX5 books manuals and Mk2 workshop manual on disc plus reams of invoices service sheets etc, owners manual & handbook etc, etc, etc.

Should enable someone to start in hillclimbing, sprinting etc or just have the car for very fast stable comfortable road use.

Looking for £ 2,500 as a complete package drive away, is negotiable depending on bits fitted required or removed etc.Call me on 01869 246712 (Bicester - Oxon) thanks Paul H.

Can configure car any way it's wanted, can remove bits to become normal road car at £1800 with standard throttle body, airbox etc on the multispoke wheels with the Hankooks, or keep performance bits on still with the multi spoke wheels, but no clothing or spares at £2000, or can configure as required and negotiate on pricing ?, any one interested at that.

Have withdrawn the race clothing and AFM, coil pack and some other spares, if still interested at a negotiable price send me a pm, rgds Paul H.
