State of Subframe

Postby Ceef » Sat Mar 05, 2022 1:06 pm

Here is my freshly escaped subframe. It’s so rusty I can’t see if the brace bar nuts are captive or not and all four diff Bush locator nuts had to be ground off.

Subject to comments is going to be shot blasted on Monday with all the other bits I think can be salvaged. I’m then treating it to a Bilt Hamber system myself.

I presume they are all like this and this is salvageable (I’ve never heard of a subframe fail and it still feels thick metal)

Are all the brace and diff locator bolts capive on the frame - ie I’m grinding them off not tapping.
