Mazda MX5 2003
A year ago had problem starting car. Changed fuel pump. Worked for a couple of weeks. Took to local garage who couldn’t find anything wrong - then worked fine until this autumn.
Started having problems but had to leave it as I was due to be away. On return discovered battery low so recharged it. Car started . Drove for a few miles and returned home. Switched off ignition, tried to restart it. Wouldn’t start. When switching on ignition immobiliser light will only come on after minute or so and would remain on for at least another minute. Car would then start then cut out after a few seconds. Would then go through the same procedure with the same result.

So it is not flashing ?...have you tried to get any fault codes through a OBD II reader ? Or for water under the carpet in the passenger side foot well.
