Easiest way to wire a MK2.5 engine????

Postby BTW » Sun Nov 25, 2018 2:38 pm

I've bought a MK2.5 engine to put in a 2wd pickup truck. I have the engine loom and the ECU but NO immobiliser, key fob or ignition switch as it didn't occur to me to remove it at the time, now the car is scrapped! Can I buy a matching ignition/key/fob and immobiliser box and keep the ECU I've got or is the ECU coded to the immobiliser, not just wired to it??? Ultimately I will be changing the ECU for an ME221 in the future but didn't want to buy it yet. Any help appreciated, Ben

As long as you have the ecu and the large number can be seen..you can go on the bay of e and find a full set up for not to much and throw the old ecu in the bin..
