Thanks for pointing out that post.
Well since I tried changing almost everything except ignitor I did order one. It will arrive probably tomorrow. I will post the results. Failing that looks like the next logical step is to start checking wiring with a multimeter and look at the harness in closer detail. g0aku did a great job to hunt down his wiring issue.

Well time to celebrate. Changed the ignitor and shes running again.
Now I have lifter noise that wasnt there before (used to run smooth as ever with not even any startup clatter). I assume the lifter type noise is because I replaced the CAS and now the ignition timing is not set. I have a timing lamp so will do that on Saturday and report on my progress.

Re: 93 Mk1 Starts then dies, fault 10
I just found time to take her out for a run. Lifter noise disappeared after the engine was warmed up so must have been not starting the engine for some time let all the thin 0w40 oil to end up in the sump. Ignition timing must be close as its running well. Will check on that tomorrow but I'm now done.
Thanks everyone for all the help and support to keep going and help me fix this issue! I've just booked the MOT for next Tuesday (2 days before expiry).
