First OC track day I've been to and I have to say miles better than any static show, I only managed a few hours on the Saturday but thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The Mazda Menders bays were busy on Saturday and I even managed to lend a bit of a hand.
Overall though I thought the OC could have pushed this event even more getting more members to turn up and have a drive.
I cant really say anything about the organisation as I don't know what went into it but it appears there were a couple of issues with the OC giving the race guys more time than the club members.
Things like this need to be addressed as the members are the bread and butter of the club without whom the club would die.
Maybe the track days should be organised by a separate group/person who's sole job is a track day for the club members, and leave the motorsport coordinator to assist the racers etc.

I heard this too but never saw it with my own eyes & as them that knows me I only kick off if I know it to be facts. I must also say that all the OC guys that I spoke to were as friendly. I've not been on the OC web site for ages but did have a quick look earlier. One guy had a good point about the bar area & should have been more folks in there having a good time. That's about it really

To be honest I have been an OC club member for quite a while now and can count on one finger the number of times people have actually come and introduced themselves as club officials/area members.
I think the OC needs to take time out to welcome new members and actually make the effort to speak to owners who turn up for events like Blyton.
As for the big owners club tent well that didn't look too inviting did it, big empty marquee and a few T-shirts for sale.
Out of interest does the OC have a social committee or similar?
I'm thinking along the lines of organising a get together having a few beers etc whilst the drivers are doing the track day, maybe even lighting a BBQ.
A bit of a laugh always helps doesn't it.
