Doh!

Postby Daktana » Thu May 23, 2013 3:43 pm

I feel this post needs to go in here, stupid mistake, going to do my valve stem seals tonight, stripping the head down today and forgot to mark up the left cam pulley, so there's a 33.3~% chance of getting it right, is there away of making this 100%?

So I guess I'm asking, are they all the same, can I look at some pictures on the interweb and just match it up? Or whip off the cover of the missus's one and match it up?

OK, I'll answer my own question.

Make sure the locating pins are at the 12 o'clock position, then place the cams on with the 'I' at the 12 o'clock position on the inlet (left) side, and the 'E' at the 12 o'clock position on the exhaust (right) side, the time up as you normally would.

This is only needed if like me you strip the head down and forget to label bits up. Doh!
