Do you ever get one of thosd days!!!

Postby blackyb » Sun Mar 04, 2018 11:51 pm

Well today went into the garage to start getting the wee roadster ready for the spring (they say its on its way)

Battery was flat which should not of been the case as she sits like the motorbike with a battery optimiser fitted, checked the socket and, errr it was for some reason turned off.

I cleaned the garage out towarde the end of 2017 and it looks like despite all been connected up, I forgot to turn it back on

Anyway, I have a smart charger which I hope has saved the day but if not, recommendations as to where to look for a decent battery for my beloved mk1??

:text-thankyouyellow:

The best battery for these is the panasonic gel , deals can be found on these...the only after market one i personally recommend is the bosch S4/S5 silver, battery is a touch wider but a great battery the S5 silver comes with the vent tube attachments? or they did.
Never use a cheap wet cell, you will hear it rotting the body and turning the metal into cornflakes and the westco gel battery is just a waste of money.

I am hoping that my super smart battery optimiser can recover the battery, early signs are good.

I was trying the encourage spring by cleaning the garage out, all it did was bring that dreaded white stuff.

Cheers Mm for the battery advice
