KG Works clusters

Postby Hamish » Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:55 pm

As some know, I have been designing my own KG Woks clusters, but have not made it public. I can now as I can now start production of these.

Having spent eons making loads of templates and trial runs.... I am now happy that the clusters are accurate, so production has started. It's not as easy as one might think to get these spot on accurate... but perseverance pays off :)

I made a pair tonight...the first real ones. Just got to do the wiring and fit all the rings and the glass and do the lettering. Got exactly the textured finish I was after... and the rings I made fit perfectly..woo-hoo happy days.

So chuffed it has finally worked. Here is a load of pics....

Holes cut perfectly centred...well happy.

...and finally lets see if it all fits.

I is happy. Now to churn these out with lots of different finishes...

So you can see a finished piece with the glass... here is a test one (actually one of many tests lol) I made earlier with the glass and bulbs :)

So it is public, yes, I am selling these at £50 each - complete, that is the cluster, rings, glass, bulbs, all wired up and ready to plug in and go... more details later but so you all know, all of this is hand made including the rings....
Regards, Hammy.

Thanks very much. :)

I will also say that if anyone wants to have a go at making these themselves, I will provide, what is now accurate templates. Also, before anyone commits to buy, as I have said to Dave already, I will provide full instructions of what you have to do to fit them.... but I will say it's easy peasy.

Also, as I am not here to make a profit or money or anything (just cover costs and materials) and would prefer to be upfront about everything, (I just like making stuff - nah, I love making stuff and being creative) I will explain, with pictures exactly how I make these.... I would rather do this first so you all know what it is you are buying or can have a go yourselves. Most people know me by now that there is always a way to do things with non-expensive materials and achieve something that, can hopefully be judged as good as expensive pre-made items :) You can be the judge of that... but I think they stand up to scrutiny :)

I will also explain what I use and how I make the dials, so you too can have a go if you want.

Of course, I am happy to make anything for anyone :)
Regards, Hammy.
