Forum Upgrade - everything working for you?

Postby agent_orange » Sat Jan 09, 2016 7:26 pm

Hey folks,

Anyone noticed a few differences to the forum?

Well we have just rolled out a major software upgrade & we hope you enjoy the new improvements and features. However as with any kind of upgrade, there could well be some niggles that we have not been able to spot.

So if you have anyone questions or problems, don't hesitate to ask on here and we'll get on to it ASAP.

Looking good! :text-goodpost:

I used the lighter background before but find it very bright now so i`ll give the darker one a go for a change.

I personally liked things as they were, I don't like the new look at all and I am finding it harder to navigate around.

It is also taking longer to actually open up the selected topics, it used to be instant and now its taking a good few seconds of scrolling before a link opens.

Just personal thoughts.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

Life is a journey, best travelled topless in an MX5!!

The upgrade has not changed the look much at all. So it sounds like you were previously using the "Lighter" look. During the upgrade I had to set everyone's look to the "Darker" one. However you can still switch to the lighter one.

To do this:
* Make sure you are logged in.
* Go here ucp.php
* Then from the tabs select Board Preferences
* In the middleish you have Board Style, this is probably set to Darker, so change it to Lighter.

If you are still finding it difficult to navigate, I would be more than happy to have a chat and see what can be done.

As for performance, well it should get better over time (google chacheing if you are really interested). However there are quite a number of new features that have gone in, so in time these will be analysed to see if there are any bottlenecks.
