Off set number plate extension...

Postby Mazda Mender » Fri Jul 22, 2016 7:22 am

I am sure others may have hit this problem???

But some years back I went to fit a off set number plate holder bracket to a Mk 2.5 with a Mazdaspeed front bottom full lip spoiler, but found that the bracket was too short to be bolted to the tie down eye and not foul the lip/bodywork.

I also found that it is still not great even with a standard nose cone, so I made a quick little extension piece which worked out far better than I had hoped as it as gave me more control on where I wanted it, as it not only made it come more forward but also more side ways.

All you need is some metal, grinder, a drill and drill bit, we used a 12mm, and then paint it what ever colour you wish, it took me all of an hour to do the two I needed just the other day, took some pics for those that might need it, it works like a knuckle joint and will work with any make of off set bracket....

Position of your plate is up to you, ,personally I don't like them to low and to small, but it is a personal choice, just stay legal.
Here is the first one I made, although if you check the pictures the new two are just a little longer by choice....
