Postby MXRod » Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:34 pm

NB 2.5 Sport 2002
Tried and gave up
No amount of unwinding on piston retracting screw will bring piston back ,
Am I missing something ,or do i have jammed /frozen piston ?
or is it best to exchange and replace .

Maybe not the right way to go, but I had the same problem with our now departed 2.5.

I got a mate to apply gentle pressure using big water pump style grips over the piston/caliper while I wound the adjuster back. It worked for me but as I said might not be the approved way to do it.

1/ No, allen key has no effect
2/ Tried a large tyre lever , piston solid
Since spoken to a friendly service chief at my local Mazda dealers ( Denis at Orpington Mazda ) and he confirms it will be a frozen piston
So pair of calipers ordered from Autolink
