front upper balljoint rubbers

Postby georgiaVS » Sun Dec 16, 2018 5:10 pm

more of an acknowledgement to the info available from this site :bow-yellow:
- just completed replacement of the split boots on both upper suspension ball joints, with MOT due January. after a good check, no play in the actual balljoint, so just the rubber boot changes.
acknowledging 2011 rundown on this from "flea".
a point i had confusion on (as im not a plumber !) - the 40mm and 40/32mm waste pipe joints , are actually marked 43 and 43/36 - i took them back to the plumber merchants initially to get my money back !! - but these are actually the standard sizes.
First side took me 4 hours - ball joints a pain to break until i hit the right spot, and also disconnected the lower shock mount, which is not needed.
Second side took less than an hour - as i seemed to know what i was doing.......
all looking good to go.

Thats the sole purpose of this site. To help owners maintain their own roadsters to the best of each ones abilities and avoiding costly visits to garages for jobs that are easy enough to do given time and the right instructions. I landed on here when a stuck egr valve destroyed the ecu and the rest is history.
