vibration/handling cured

Postby georgiaVS » Mon Aug 06, 2018 10:27 am

This is pretty much a recommendation in the South West for "A1 Tyres - Bodmin".
My roadster VS (2002) , came as an import with 16inch wheels/tyres, and as at least 3 tyres were showing signs of perishing, decided at the same time to go down to 15inch.
New set purchased on line - cam with Firestone tyres fully balanced. Refitted - no problems, but the "shake" at ~65mph-75mph still present.
I had full 4 wheel alignment to near OEM standard (Hunter system), which helped a little,, but then went for rebalcning of the new tyres/wheels.
The guys at A1 Bodmin - were great. All tyres needed a level of rebalance, but seems crictically one needed repositioing on the wheel. Thier Hunter system also tells you where best to refit the wheels on the car!
The handling/vibration on the ride back was amazingly improved, and probably now as it should be - my first MX5 !
Highly recommended for south of Plymouth.
