Clutch slave cylinder MK2.5

Postby Unlucki » Thu Sep 10, 2015 11:02 am

Hi,

Anyone in northwest with any ramps etc to help me do this (or do it for me.....I'll make lots of tea ? supply sandwiches ?chips etc ? or even pay lol) getting sick of making my mechanic rich :-D

I would be eternally grateful.

The reason for the change is to try and eliminate 1st to 2nd notchy gear change when cold ? Gearbox and diff oil have been changed.

Be safe peeps

Access is through the drivers wheel arch so no need for a ramp. Just a jack & axle stand.

Wayne is in Wigan if that`s not too far for you. No idea if anyone is any closer.

Wayne, is it a simple job to do, no special tools or techniques etc. Got one to fit to a mk2 1.8 in the coming week for a mate of mine.

Yeah , easy enough Bry, should take 20 minutes or so, i would invest in a proper brake line spanner for the union to crack it, as a open spanner can round them off when giving it some to crack, ok to use once the seal is broke and nip it back up again with the brake spanner when finished, put some plastic over the filler bottle and screw the lid back on to make a vacuum so the fluid will only weep rather than pure out.
make sure you grease the rod end and release arm where they connect.
