Rear Anti roll bar NA vs NB

Postby Jetmech » Mon Aug 31, 2015 3:18 pm

I have just been looking around under our MX5 NB California, the brakes and suspension are heavily corroded, luckily the body work isn't as bad! However the rear anti roll bar is in a very poor state so I will replace it. A good second-hand one will be fine. Looking on eBay the MK1 & MK2 bars look very similar. Are they in fact the same?

I'd just take it off, rub it down, paint and replace. They aren't very strong and don't do a lot so a little pitting won't make much difference.

Mk 1 will not fit a MK 2/2.5 and The Mk 2/2.5 will not fit the MK 1, as lazza says take it off sand it down throw some paint at it add copper slip to the bolts and threads and bolt it back on .

OK thanks for the replies, I'll see what it cleans up like. The MOT is up at the end of Sept. and I want to show the MOT inspector that I have made some effort. There's a lot to do and although the car will be off the road from October I would like it to have a fresh MOT before I lay it up for the winter. Then it's just Tax and go in April :-)
