Intermittent electrical thing - a short?

Postby Ricolas » Fri Jul 15, 2016 12:43 pm

This only happens when the weather is hot.

Occasionally, I will get a problem where the left indicator will just be stuck on. No blinking, just on. Car on or off. Nothing, short of cutting the battery out, turns it off.

Also when this is either happening, or about to, the headlights will start misbehaving, flipping up and dancing a bit (one up, one down etc, and a couple of winks on one.)

When the car and the weather cools down again, the problem goes away.

Any places I might want to look for starters? I am not an electrics buff, so beyond basic wiring I am not really able to easily track this down without a little guidance.

(NB the car has got an immobiliser if that makes a difference.)
