Greetings and welcome to menders, this site was built for every owner that might need her to help keep those bills low and also keep them on the road where they belong, she is run by very passionate enthusiasts owners for passionate enthusiastic owners, see her like a on line garage, there is a lot of tech stuff hopefully explained for everyone to use, if there is something you cannot get your head around, or you feel that there is a strong walk through guide missing that needs creating by one of us or from yourselves, please let us know, we are also on false book and youtube, which as short tech vids to help, and again if you feel there is a vid that would help please get it touch.

Then the bloke next door said i could use his garage for a few weeks to put the flea so i would have more room to work. Happy days

That's not an oil leak on the under tray just been a bit mad with the penetrating spray

Although the rear sills didn't look to bad i thought i would expose them anyhow as there was slight pitting. The off side one was original but the near side one had been replaced well at least they tried as there was filler at the back. It looked as though the car had been slightly grazed on the near side against something some time age. You can see by the graze below the door jam & also where they tried to touch up just above the rear quarter. Any how there off & you can see what i found. Not to bad as the flea was a lot worse. Off side is very solid & near side is a little worse. Im going to treat it all first inside & out to see what im left with.
I know the cutting out is a bit messy at the moment but i'll tidy that up when the new sills arrive. Just wanted the chemicals to do there thing.

Worked last night. Been up a while now & got my head on straight. Mmmmm i think i'll get them calipers off & give them a strip down & clean up. I'm gonna throw the discs away as they are a bit crazed & new ones are not to expensive.
I was going to have a go at the welding the quarter's myself but after talking to a mate of mine he said he would spot weld the new ones for me when its ready. May still have a go myself as i have the gear but only used to welding thick old beams & stuff. I'll have a think on that one as it may be a good learning curve
Maybe play around on some thinner sheet first

Well i think i done quite well this afternoon. Calipers & discs off. Not cleaned them up yet due to i was in a stripping down mood once i got started.
