Knowing Mel B is to continue to be looked after, and properly sorted is gratifying. The car was my partner Angela's, and a change in life-circumstance necessitates a need to move her on. We know Mel B is in the best hands.

Well she is back at wayne mansion to be finished off, service, service brakes, fettle a few bits and pieces, then get her up in the air and rip her apart for cleaning ,treating,undersealing and cavity wax in the box sections....
My god it was a seriously wet night to be collecting any car...

Little bits done ready for the strip down at weekend, swapped the wheels for the OE colour , swapped the rear chrome deck plates, the others looked a bit scabby , fixed the electric window switch?, bought new steering wheel screws ,sid had lost them and re fitted the wheel all wrong?, swapped the bonnet prop locking clip for the broken one?, swapped the prop hinge clip for a new one? re sprayed the prop.
Service at the weekend and service the brakes then strip her all down for undersealing etc....

Time to strip and attack any rust she is hiding before undersealing and cavity wax on the G Ltd...front first....only 3 bolts snapped on the undertray, both front brackets are toast from the nose cone to the front wing , they always are ,Mr Autolinkmx5 I will need two new ones please sir...one outer edge bumper support rod as give up, two 10mm bolts were blobs of rust but managed to remove them for fresh...new drop links tomorrow and both front wheel wells to check over, then carry on with the strip down underneath and rear wheel arches...
Removed the old dried out seam sealer and took back to fresh metal, seam sealer in the front arches looks the same so that will be removed treated and fresh applied...

G LTD Stripped down, new drop links on , they gave a brave fight but I won , one had to be persuaded a bit more with a grinder....rear fog light on and wired, heat shields all rubbed down and painted ready for re fitting, snapped nuts from the undertray all drilled out and a new lower nose cone support rod found and fitted..all cleaned down with a jet wash and jizza clean, ready for the de rusting and prep( pics are all pre clean) tomorrow...love the effort of someone's attempt at adding under seal from the rear only on an angle with a 5 minute blast...look at the line on the subframe ....

So more attacking of the G ltd...front all done and underneath... including wishbones etc...re done the seam sealer also in the front wheel arches after removing all the old dry seal, cleaning, treating and applying ,and also to the skuttle etc,messy job it was everywhere,and with the heat it was very very soft, and as soon as you wet a finger to smooth it your finger was dry plus it was going off very quickly so " speed" had to happen, my hands are still dyed black and had black lip stick on for most of the day which the family found very funny as no one told me...it is not the neatest, but it is about re sealing and it will be getting covered over by underseal anyway, one things for sure this will not dry out and crack, I was really shocked at the panel seams with how they were open for water to creep inbetween the spot welded panels into the box sections to rot from the amount of dried cracked seam sealer, i have always wondered how that box section as rotted out on some that have been to me, now i now, everydays a learning day.
Rear under brace cleaned up ready for prep and paint, and a very sad but very satisfying...I polished up all the wheel nuts...;0) rears tomorrow, then the rear and subframe etc, and ready for the undersealing, I'll do the little red roadster at the same time...

So onto the back end, prep'd and ready for tomorrow for the undersealing and cavity wax, which I will be doing the little red roadster at the same time so they both hit the floor together ready to go off for some paint correction on the G ltd and re spray the little red un soul red, watch this space....

So Saturday was the day picked to do the nasty, and like a first class n*b head i had this great idea " do you know what, while all the gear is out i'll do the little red roadster at the same time", that turned out to be a massive mistake for later on that evening.
But anyway onto the build...the brackets that hold the nose cone to the body and wing had turned to dust(as they as do), no one as any OE ones in stock, so i had some made up in work by Aaron Barker out of S/steel which will out last the cars, so my thanks to Aaron for these , i'll not be buying OE ones again now....

Oh well , sh*t happens for a reason

So after a long morning from a early start of prepping and getting ready, they were both ready for attack, and it was a roasting hot day, perfect for a overalls, mask,goggles, hat under cars , so i hit the red un first( will up date that build), I also did the backs of the wings and impact bumper guides, I swapped out the wing on the passenger side as there was some micro bubbling at the front happening which needs to be cut out and fresh put in place, so thought it would be quicker and easier to just swap the wing and repair it for the red un later, I can safely say with hand on heart, that I will never be doing two in the same day ever again in my life time from here on in, it was hard going and i felt the aftermath that evening and still can, but a hard process done and out of the way.
I assumed wrongly that it was going to be a corker all day, but the clouds started to drift over and were starting to get darker, so on consulting the weather guess forecast, it had changed to rain at 8pm, my lad was called out for the mission of "We need to get this lot away fast and covered up" we rushed around like headless chickens to get the bumpers on, wings and nose cones, wheels, covered over and put everything away until tomorrow..

So Sunday, after very little sleep and a pain in my shoulders and neck that i can only compere to a constant teeth ache I was debating with myself to chill for the day, but you know how it is , i do have a dead line and all 3 need to be finished.
My back and shoulders eased up, and the gray clouds blow over to give a lovely hot day, so out i went and put the G ltd back together, everything is on bar the zorst and rear under brace( which needs painting yet),Found a set of front mud guards, so fitted them to be painted, i'll do the cavity wax when she comes back from the body shop from some paint correction,which i will also do a engine clean and clean up, but my list now is smaller now, Dip stick, service, and re service the brakes and a general check over,I'll put as much together on the red un this week, the Sspec comes back and swap them around at the weekend, so i'll be back on that to finish , i am giving myself a week?

OE zorst fitted,with massive thanks to Mr Steve Pounder for going out of his way to collect and even drop off for me
Service brakes, spray rear under brace and re fit, then she can be dropped back down on the floor, for a service, then off to Map in Wigan for some paint correction, on return,big clean and cavity wax...done.

Brakes all serviced and rear under brace finished cleaning/prepping and painted with a nosey midgy that DNA can be extracted from in many years to come entombed into the paint finish to create dinosaurs later down the line...all ready to fit back on tonight and then back on the floor...
