Well more done....
Gauge and clock now changed, red back lights fitted to the heater control panel of Jass performance, and jass performace instrument dial faces fitted with red back lights...
Car bra fitted, suspension all greased up, the correct lugs and bolts fitted the the back mudguards, after getting her back with some missing and wrong ones fitted...
Hu reset to fit flush grrrrr.
The new temp sensor for the after market adapter will not fit correct so a new adapter as been ordered...

Just a few odds and sods left to sort and a proper clean and polish, and then the poor girls is back at being my daily through summer, while i rebuild my MK 2.1/4.

Mk 1 V.S rad swapped out...i was noticing that the coolant level was dropping by only a little in the expansion bottle over the last couple of weeks but could not find anything weeping ? no tell tale signs on the drive? which was getting to me a bit...until i got home one evening and the good lady in my life handed something to me and asked "is this of your car"...yes it was the plastic head off the rad drainage screw ...so went to have a feel and a look and yes it was and i could now feel a weep as the rest of the thread on the plug was still in there, which now made a lot of sense where the weep was and why i could not find it as it would of been expanding with heat to to weep but okay cold..the rad was fine but i needed a new drainage plug...but with the rad being of 20 odd years old any way it was worth swapping out anyway...so straight onto Andrew at Autolinkmx5 to see if he had one and could he helicopter one over asap....
This was a Thursday night and work in the morning and needed the roadster as it was my last day for two weeks off for a switch off and a rest (yeah right).
So a quick fix was.....blue tack shoved in the drainage plug hole to fill it unto what was left threaded plug to seal it....checked Friday morning when i got to work ...not lost a drop...checked when i got home, not lost a drop, good old blue tack.
New Rad arrived on Saturday , so straight up on axle stands, wedged the rear wheels and attack, old rad out, system flushed, new rad in, 5 year coolant in, everything cracked and copper slipped back up, all back together, back on the floor and bleed ,run to temp a good number of times to check the fan is kicking in and out when it should and dropping the temp enough...
Job done and thank you Andrew...

I also decided the light bulbs need upgrading after being back in the MK 1 which as had low pros fitted for many years as even with half good bulbs fitted the light out put is not great down not lit country lanes, they are IL motor sport versions so the low beam is an H7 and high beam is a H9, if they were still the OE light units i would of fitted some H4 high/low PIAA extreme force bulbs but sadly not, so the next option is a set of HID units, so ÂŁ16.98 later the H7 kit fell through the door to try, used similar kits before on the 2.5 and the mazda 3, 6000 is a good brightness but gone for 8000 with a hint of blue, kit looks just as good as some of the dearer kits i have used, fitting and using will tell me even better, will be looking at also ordering a H9 kit for high beam but will go for 10000, i have used 12000 in the past which is a bright strong blue tint,,but as you go up or down the scale from 6000 you lose brightness, although they are brighter than a standard bulb...
Will give feed back..
