Here's an update:

Despite MMs best efforts......

Car isn't ready - sadly let down by others.... Not sure when the car maybe ready to race. As a consequence:

- Test day 31st March looks like being missed - that's £90.00 down the drain....

- Can't risk the £210.00 required by end of this week to enter the two Gurston April events (20th/21st)....

However, I have entered BHC at Prescott 27th and 28th April....

If my car's not ready, I'll have to figure out an alternative!!

Test day (31st March) is back on the cards now..... Might not be my car, if it's not I'll be in a Daihatsu Mira Avanzato TRxx - 660cc turbo.... That's a front wheel drive 16v..... Currently restricted to 64hp and 81mph!!! Change those hopefully before then... Thank you Andrew

This is the car Andrew will probably be competing with in four Gurston events this season.... I believe he's entered Sunday 21st April, 25th/26th May, 24th/25th August and 8th September!!!

My Test Day times should be live on the TSL website on 31st March

- http://www.tsl-timing.com/?loc=club&sea ... event=club

then click 31st March Gurston Down BARC SW - my car number is 34 - runs start at 09:30...

(If I'm in the Proton a great time will be under 42 secs! But it'll need to be dry, otherwise who knows....)

Test Day - Gurston Down (www.gurtsondown.org) - 31st March...

My car number is 34...

My current best time there is 42.14.... (Would love a 40.XX but would be happy with 41.XX)

Breakdown of that time:

0 to 64ft - 2.88 secs (2 secs = 1G of acceleration)

Hollow Speed Trap - 75 mph

Intermediate - 22.30 secs

Kara to Ashes - 11.10 secs

Finish Line Speed Trap - 75 mph

Starts at 10:00 until 16:30 - there are 64 entries so looks like I'll get quite a few runs....

Live timing can be found at:

Managed to get 13 runs in on the day.... Just kept on going around and around... ;-)

It was really cold - outside temp before taking into account the wind, didn't get over 5 degrees. AND the dust was very very bad, made it very slippery.... I think I've some video somewhere to give you an idea of how much dust there was...

By run four I'd beaten my personal best, only by 0.01 of a second... Ended up with a 41.49 (0.65 faster than previous personal best)...

I didn't run with my new wheels and tyres - they are super soft V70A and weigh over 5 kg less each.

Intake temps were around 25 degress at start line as air box and feed aren't finished. So there may be more to come.

First official race Saturday 20th April - Gurston Down

Second race Sunday 21st April - Gurston Down - AND Andrew will be running a car, in the same class, in the event too!!! Best watch this space for links to the timing website and more news!!!

Results for Gurston Down - 20th April 2013

Class Win....

Check this out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_m_uIdjQu4

This was caused by the rear wheels not fitting the rear hubs properly, damaged all the rear wheel nuts - lucky not to damage the hubs.. Needed spigots which are now fitted...
