Where to get rust repaired?

Postby AleX-5 » Thu Nov 19, 2015 12:01 am

My mk2 has a small split at the back of one of the sills which I'm hoping to get repaired before the weather gets really bad and the gritters come out. I'm based in Gloucester and work near Stroud but I don't mind travelling a bit to get the job done right. Unfortunately my mx5 is my only car so I need to go somewhere that will lend me one to get to work.

I did have it booked in with skuzzle bit their courtesy car ended up being unavailable so I had to cancel. I've tried doctor mx5 but they don't have a car available either. I expect a local garage would probably do the job but I'm not sure what the quality would be like.

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Hi M-m,

You did, yes. I've no doubt they'd do a good job but they didn't have a car to borrow while the work was being done.

Insurance killed off a lot of courtesy cars for the smaller outfit. Shame because the bigger places generally don't care about your pride and joy half as much.

Thanks M-m, I'll try Andrew. Nedski, you're dead right there! It's the same reason I can't rent a car for the week. I'm 24 so would be paying £35 per day on top of the rental cost.
