I understand this acts as only support, how has this affected the engines natural movement? Has it not threated integrity of the supercharger or the engine?

It is simply a support bracket that's triangulated and a connecting rod. It comes from the block and uses the engine mount bolts on the engine. It takes some weight of the charger from below offering support. It does not pull down, it pushes up.
I've already repaired two supercharging mounting brackets that have cracked with stress. These did Not have the extra support form below. I have also seen cases where the side of the cylinder head has broken off with the weight of the charger. It is heavy and well stressed with pulleys.

Maybe it's easier to see in real life how it supports the charger than by awkward photo's. Anyhow it simply supports the charger reducing stress on the cylinder head, mounting brackets and the charger itself.

The first brackets just hung from the head and later came a third mounting point from the power steering bracket. This now gives 4 points of attachment to the head.

Hope that helps. If you want to see it the car is in Lincolnshire. :handgestures-thumbup:

I don't know if ADeathFromAbove was thinking that the support bracket was mounted on the chassis. Doing that would add stress to the SC mounting bracket. I think it's attached to the block at the engine mounting point (is that right?) and up to the underside of the SC.

My BRP MP62 SC kit has a bracket under the SC to add a similar support to the underside of the SC. Pretty critical on these as an MP62 is a fair but bigger & heavier than an M45.

Yep that's right. From the cylinder block definitely not the chassis.

Both the supercharged cars Ive just done were at Cadwell park. Terrible weather but the cars ran perfectly.
