Interior lights

Postby Mxmurray » Sat Feb 07, 2015 12:04 pm

Hi all
My mk1 has the normal interior light above the rear view mirror but it also has a light to the left of the steering column to illuminate the footwell.
I know there is supposed to be a mod where a light can be fitted to the transmission tunnel but is there a loom to reach my light?
I have pulled the light off and there is a short tail with a plug on but doesn't appear to be any wiring.
Or has someone fitted a false light to my car for some bizarre reason?

No, the light on mine is actually on the panel beside the steering column so as you sit in the drivers seat it would be above your left knee.

No
I have the lights but the wiring is too short and on looking behind the panel there doesnt appear to be any suitable plugs.
Do all eunos/mx5 have the wiring on the transmission tunnel and secondly will it reach my light beside the steering column?

Having just read that back it make sense to me but maybe not to anyone else.
I will try upload a pic tomorrow.

The later Mk 1's and onwards did not have them as they moved the interior light the the top of the windscreen header trim where the rear view mirror was and the mirror moved onto the screen itself,it is dead easy to wire them in, if you would of said something when she was here i would of done it for you.
