nope.. that just makes them seriously heavy. and the manual rack isnt as quick as the power rack, so do it right and you get a nice light, quick rack with loads of feel which will last a long time. Loop the pipes and you get a heavy rack which will have a lack of feel from the pinion.
Fit a manual rack and you get a light rack with loads of feel, but an extra turn from lock to lock.

People that want the best will depower the rack properly.
