The Old Look style is going to be retired.

Postby agent_orange » Mon Mar 31, 2014 12:23 am

Yes unfortunately, its true, the old look for this forum will be retired from service. It has served us well, however with the plans we have for the future, it will add an unnecessary amount of additional maintenance time. So its time for it to put on its slippers and fetch a pipe.

For those of you who are currently using the Old Look, don't worry, you do not need to do anything. When the change over is complete, you will automatically be set to the default "Darker" style.

The Old Look will no longer be available from 1st May.

If you wish to change the style earlier by yourself, the basic steps are:

1. Go to User Control Panel.
2. Then select Board Preferences.
3. From that screen you should see My Board Style.
4. Choose the Darker style, or if you prefer, the Lighter style.
5. Hit Submit at the bottom of the screen.

The constantly repeating animation below (click to enlarge) shows the above steps in action.

I prefer the look and feel of the old style. I do hope the promised improvements, make up for the change to a poorer interface.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I DO NOT wish to use the dark style. It is so depressing, if I want dark I will have to go to the dark side ffs

As above, I have looked at the dark style in the past and didn't like it. I know I am not on here that much, but once the changeover has been made then I will not come back.

I have to say I didn't like the dark background when I saw it but now that I see the lighter options it's grand. It will just take some getting used to the new layout....

I use the light option. I didn't like it much at first but it's grown on me and now I wouldn't want to go back. Just give it a go for a while, I'm sure you'll be fine with it.
