99MK2 and (almost!) clueless

Postby SaulHeno » Sat Oct 16, 2021 4:27 pm

Hey guys!

Glad i found this forum! Seems like it’ll be a lot of help for years to come. I’m the proud 5th owner of an Irish 99 MK2 and i don’t plan on ever getting rid of him.

I’m only a month into owning it, and it’s not only my first convertible, but also my first petrol and my first rear wheel drive car. Having come from 1.6 diesel Kia’s and VWs i can say it’s leaps ahead.

And i’m loving every second ( bar the fuel prices haha)

i’m still getting used to handling it (and may have dented it a light bit already!) but i can’t ever see myself getting rid of this. I’m planning on making sure this beauty lasts another 22 years and then some.

He needs some work (and i need someone in ireland to trust to do it right so let me know of any!) but it’s going to be done and done right, that’s my promise to him :)

I’ve big plans for this little guy and i can’t wait to share them with you guys, so expect lots of questions ( and maybe even some stupid ones!) in the future.

Meet Jerry!

Welcome and there are no stupid questions,, we all have to learn and the only way to do so is to ask questions and thankfully on here you will get honest straight forward answers.

It's all about keeping these roadsters out there.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

Life is a journey, best travelled topless in an MX5!!

Thank you!

I know what you mean. It’s an awful shame seeing loads of these rust out and go to waste. Only last year i noticed a lad in my village had a British Racing Green Mk1 (i hope it wasn’t the one of 4000 one!) just sitting in his driveway. Wheels flat from sitting, green moss all over it. And before i could get a chance to make him an offer to save the poor thing it was gone. And i don’t want to think about what might’ve happened to it.

So i am on a bit of a quest to make mine last while also adding my own touch.

I can’t wait!
