NA 1.8 1997 greetings from Slovakia

Postby McLenin » Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:08 pm

Hello and greetings from Slovakia!
My name is Martin and from January 2019 I am a proud owner of 1997 NA black and tan, 195 000 kms on odometer.
It will need some love, will need to fix passenger window ( not working at all, stays up), also the drivers side could use some lubing. Also some rust appeared in the notorious places. Also complete fluid change along with filters.
On the bright side, I managed to clean and seal the roof and clean the interior ( love autoglym btw.).

My aim is to restore it to her beauty into as much stock configuration as can be. Her origin is in Switzerland , when she drove in Netherlands, and now with me in northern parts of Slovakia.

I found this forum by chance when I was searching for some dyi stuff I can do on MX 5, and was so pleased by the responses to questions, topics and guides that I had to apply here as well :)

Best regards and as a channel on YouTube says, drive tastefully :)

Martin

Thanks for the welcome :)

Just re-read my post, and I really overused the word "also" :text-imwithstupid:
Was typing on mobile phone and looks like my cerebral capacity went down with it hahah.

I am reading through the forum and the stuff I am finding is golden!

Welcome to the crazy world of menders.

Looking at your photo reminds me of happy times driving my MX in the snow, a challenge at times but great fun.

Keep us posted on progress.

It was really nice weather yesterday so I took my Mazda for a spin ( roughly 250kms of driving nowhere just for the fun of it). Loved every meter :)
