Hello all

Postby RicornC » Wed Jan 09, 2019 12:07 am

Just discovered this forum whilst researching replacing the suspension bushes on my 2003 Mk2.5 S-VT Sport (not sure what that means).
Bought my first MX-5 (2000 Mk2) about 4yrs ago and absolutely loved it, it got written off when I was T-Boned on a roundabout and I replaced it with the current 1 almost immediately.

I found it quite surprising what a difference there was between the Mk2 and Mk2.5 both provide engaging drives but the 2.5 is slightly more polished, quieter at motorway speeds and slightly better fuel consumption.

My compliments on a great site, the post on changing the suspension bushes has given me the confidence to have a crack at this myself.

Next job will be to renew all discs and pads I was looking at MX5Parts EBC Turbogroove set, which seems pretty good. Just upgraded the front disks and pads on my MGB to a similar setup and have been very pleased with them, anyone used these or have any thoughts ?

Thanks again for a great site.

Welcome to menders :text-welcomewave:

I had a 03 Sport myself as my only car for a few years. Great car but needed 4 seats again when the grandkids started arriving so went back to a MK1 weekend car.

Also had a few MGBs back in the day. As Wayne says lets see some pics.

I had a 2003 1.8 S.VT (sequential valve timing or summat like that) and we loved it but the sheer costs of running two mx5s, my VW, the wifes Fiesta and the motorbike meant something had to go. The little 1.6 mk1 was safe so the SVT had to reluctantly go as I love my bike and don't want to give it up just yet.

Keep looking for another SVT but finances just won't allow me to go and buy one.

Pleased the site has already helped you, as it has me many times before.

Pop some photos up and make me envious all over again.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

Life is a journey, best travelled topless in an MX5!!
