Early MK2 heated rear window cut out switch

Postby Mazda Mender » Wed Oct 02, 2013 11:16 pm

On early MK2's (UK and Jap) Mazda fitted a cut off switch to the hood frame, effectively cutting off the power(Earth) to the Heated Rear Window when the soft top is lowered. However many owners have come across the problem of the switch staying off when the top is put back up, particularly when a hard top has been on for some time.

A cure for the problem, remember that later MK2's and MK2.5's did not have it fitted.

I was removing the hood skin, so i did this at the same time, you DO NOT NEED to remove the hood to do this.....

As you can see all the trim is off which makes it easier to see, this can all be done by just removing the rear deck carpet only, there is NO NEED to remove all the trim and hood/hood frame.
