Fitting a battery negative kill switch Mk1/2/2.5 NA/NB

Found at Autolinkmx5 http://www.autolinkmx5.com/battery-term ... 7356-p.asp it can be used for many reasons , which is a great item to fit for anyone that has a roadster sat around for any length of time unused, it fits to the negative post connection on the battery and once fitted a simple turn off and on of the wheel is all that is needed, it saves the battery from dark current drain and is also good as an immobiliser , (although I do recommend fitting a cat 2 system,) one can be bought for the dear sum of around £4 so not a pocket emptier by any means and is simple to fit.
Tools needed...

1/4 drive ratchet
1/4 drive extensions
1/4 drive 10mm socket
1/4 drive 13mm socket
large flat screw driver
Copper/brass/alloy webbing for packing
As it arrived....
And out of the bag.....

The clamp section is just a tad small for the OE negative battery clamp to tighten down solid so a strip of copper webbing is cut to act as a filler/packing....
Roll it up....
And slightly unroll and wrap it to the end of the clamp section on the insulater switch
The next step is now on the roadster, we will be using a MK 1 for this walk through guide, but the others are the same it is just that the batteries are in different places...
Undo the Negative/earth battery clamp on the battery with a 1/4 drive ratchet with a long extension and a 10mm socket and remove it from the battery post and pull it out to be worked on easier( Please be very careful NOT to touch the Positive clamp and post with the ratchet/extension or negative correction).
Once Out in a workable place remove the negative clamp nut and bolt with the 10mm socket...
Separate/open up the battery clamp with a large flat head screw driver...
Push the Battery cut off switch and the packing into the clamp, making sure that the cut off wheel is screwed out so making it off....
Add the nut and bolt back into the negative battery clamp the correct way around...
Tighten the nut back up with the 1/4 drive ratchet and 10mm socket taking note of the angle it is being bolted down to on the cut off switch...
Once tight and being careful not to touch the positive/live clamp or post on the battery push/fit the negative cut off switch onto the negative/earth post on the battery post making sure the wheel is still in the off position...
Next you need to tighten the new battery cut off switch battery clamp up solid to the battery post in this case wit a 13mm , so using the 1/4 drive ratchet,extensions and 13mm socket being careful not to touch the positive post...
Once bolted down tight make sure everything is tight, and turn the wheel to on/connected to check it works correct.
And thats it, you have fitted a kill switch which is very handy as a anti theft item but as most will fit and use one for a roadster that is stored for a while and stops drainage of the battery for when she is ready to be used full time again.
This can be added to any car, and i will add pics of one fitted to a MK2/2.5 soon also.
