Jammed door will not open?........

Postby Mazda Mender » Tue Mar 31, 2015 12:12 pm

jammed door

Which in 9 out of 10 cases is the little spring on the locking mech as snapped....

Drop the roof, window down ,be it electric or keep fit, unscrew all the fittings off the door, start at the bottom and start popping the door card free you will hit one that will not pop where the door card is trapped by the dash, pull and wiggle the door card from the bottom at the same time pulling upwards this will slide free of the plastic lug that holds the door card on (don't forget to take it off the door and put it back on the door card)you should now be able to see the plastic clear sheet, pull it to one side(try not to rip it),bring the window back up, you should be able to now get your hand in to pull the door open, the little spring on the main locking mech will have snapped and Mazda do not sell them they will sell you a full lock mech for plenty pennies, so go on Autolinkmx5 web site they have had some made so get two for when the other one fails, you have one ready.
Hope this helps
and good luck
