Rear sill repair costs?

The mk2 has an advisory on the last MOT of corrosion on the rear sills I have had a look and the drivers side has bubbles underneath, the passenger side has some smaller bubbling Question is how much is this going to cost me to get repaired? I'm working out whether it is actually going to be worth i...

Re: water in the battery tray?

Don't know, carpet looked dry. The bolts on the hardtop fixing bracket felt wet underneath, which may be condensation but I'll try sealing around there. Only other place I can think of is where the battery vent goes to the outside

Re: water in the battery tray?

It's the standard Panasonic

Looks like too much to be condensation alone

I've got a mk2

Battery is on it's way out so I pulled it out tonight to try and charge it a bit

The battery tray has about 1cm of standing water in it

I know the weather has been awful lately, but I have in idea where it's getting in

Any ideas?

Battery time

I know it's been done to death, but I'm looking for a battery that will fit the Mk2 without any need for modifications

I can't afford the panasonic, and I don't trust the wesco

Are there any batteries from bosch etc that are the same dimensions as the original?

cheers

Re: Vacuum or pressure brake bleeder?

I tried a sealey vacuum one today

Still holding judgement on it

The gunson used to work great on my other cars, this vacuum one takes ages

I think it sucks air through the thread on the bleed nipple

Vacuum or pressure brake bleeder?

I used to use a gunson pressure bleeder on my other cars with good results

Unfortunately it doesn't fit the brake reservoir on the mx5

Has anyone used a pressure or vacuum bleeder?

Recommendations?

The 2 person method is a no go

cheers

Re: Front brake getting hot

Not sure which way to go. It looks like the rear of the disc is lipped and grooved, so I was thinking new discs and pads too, so that would be a full front brake kit Or do I ignore the lip and get a recon caliper and a set of front pads? Yes mm the sliders are nice and free, it can only be the pisto...
