Re: 2003 SVT Sport restoration

So I think there is a long over due update here, being on holiday then working away for 3 weeks and working flat out on the car has really took most of my time up. So my last post left off at the point where the drivers side suspension was complete. My next job was to get the passenger side stripped...

Re: Centre pipe for the mk2.5

I have the Racing Beat Power Pulse Dual back box and Larini mid pipe and Sports cat on my Mk2.5. Larini don't show MX5 exhausts on their website any more, they seem to be concentrating on the top end of the market but I believe they will still make them on request. YEah when I went on the website t...

Thanks, any help and advice is greatly appteciated Hello mate. As MM mentioned I got one of these as a direct replacement for my original mid section which rotted away. http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/images/prod_img/nb2-0325.jpg Its IL Motorsports, can't fault the quality. Centre pipe for the mk2.5

Im looking to get a racing beat back box for my 2.5 but i also want to change thw centre pipe aswell. The only issue i see with the racing beat centre pipe is that it has no o2 sensor position so it would throw a CEL and fail mot. The only centre pipe i have seen that does have a o2 sensor but there...

change in alloy size affecting tyre size

i have been looking at some alloys to replace the my standard ones and i love the look of the Konig dial in grey. I have 16s on but i would want the new alloys to be 15s as i like the chunky tyre look. So i know the tyre size will have to be different so that the overall diameter is the same but i h...

Re: 2003 SVT Sport restoration

Yeah I guess the boot isn't bad but like said the engine would bug me. Did you get all the door shuts done too? No it's volcano red, this beauty! aston-martin-vanquish-3.jpg I won't have any updates for around 4 weeks as I'm going away on holiday tomorrow then working away for two weeks but gives me...

Re: 2003 SVT Sport restoration

I'm hoping the fact it's a tri colour paint might put people off as it may be more expensive. There is a Aston Martin red I love but cannot find any paint with the code. Also if I stay red I won't be worried about the boot and under bonnet

Re: 2003 SVT Sport restoration

Ross! This is QUALITY work. B lad you made a thread and I'll be following the rebuild closely. General consensus here is that polybushes are the work of satan though. I'm also running Powerflex bushes all around (black series) as I was building a track toy, but have found them very difficult to liv...

Re: Rust near front sill

Yeah it is near the jacking point on both sides, it needs a respray so it can get butchered as much as it needs to, the metal around it seems solid but obviously there are holes there. I have went into a bit more detail on my build thread.

Re: 2003 SVT Sport restoration

So I started to research what I should be doing to strip the suspension down and what I should be replacing it with. I deicded on MeisterR Zeta CRD coilovers and they look amazing, I cannot comment on how they feel as I haven't been able to drive it yet! I changed all the bushes with Powerflex bushe...

2003 SVT Sport restoration

Well I thought I would start a build thread instead of making lots of post in various places. I should start off with a little bit info about myself and the car and how I came to have it. Im 22yrs old and am a joiner so I'm quite practical and good with my hands but I've never did anything like this...

Re: MX5 newbie with a MK2.5 S-VT Sport

I love mine to bits but this rust issue I have had is very depressing, I knew it had some rust in the rear wing but near the jacking points it has rusted through too. Thanks though I will keep and eye out for it, anything I should be looking out for? Also there are big things to come for this car, I...

Re: Dinitrol RC900

thanks for the replies, i sprayed the arches with RC900 and it converted the few patches black and there was no rust left on show. None of the places that had rust let the screw driver go through so Im hoping it was just surface rust that was from the old flaking underseal
