Re: Motorsport photo web site

Thanks blackyb, all feedback is helpful. I'll check out the performance on the tablet. I have been thinking about getting some rally photos on there, along with some classic or non-competition car stuff. Going to Le Mans this week, more as a punter than photographer (as in the Spanish GP) but hope t...

Rusty sills - recommendations for garages

In my last MOT I was given an advisory for rusty sills in the area just forward of the rear wheels. I would like to get this sorted out properly. Does anyone here have any recommendations for a reliable garage to do this work. I think this is the only problem area but ideally I would like the whole ...

I'll get this going then...

So, I have the privilege to get this section up and racing. I like to go to race meets. From time to time I'll go with the mind of taking photos, and occasionally take some video. My vids are not professional quality (unlike my photos) but they are interesting enough. Please enjoy: Sywell Classic 26...

Re: 1990 MK1 UK - No stunna

Thanks for the comments. Definitely next job is suspension bushes. Sprayed and sprayed with silicone oil to get rid of the squeaks but effect only lasts a few days ; (

1990 MK1 UK - No stunna

Here's a couple of shots of my car taken the other night whilst on a drive. Not a stunna but gradually getting round to doing this that and the other. Had it 14 months. Could almost be concours, squinting from 20yds! One of the tattiest looking 5's in the car park at last years rally (apart from the...

Re: Cursed water plug

Well, just like to say that patience and tenacity paid off and got it sorted. Back on the road again. Sooo good :)

Must have taken 3 hours plus over a couple of stints and 90% of that was removing the old plug :|

Re: Cursed water plug

Ah I see, the little by little, softly softly approach. Well, at least I know I'm not doing anything pointless, apart from an engine strip, which is not what I'm up for. I made sure I got genuine Jubilee clips to finish off. At least it will be easier to remove the next time around, probably another...

Cursed water plug

Okay, does anyone have any useful/magical suggestions here? I've got a coolant leak from the water plug at the rear of the engine and am having difficulty removing what's left of it. The issue is removing the clip that holds the plug on. I have managed to prise off part of the clip but the lack of r...

Re: Squeaky suspension components

Get a couple of tins of Halfords own brand silicone spray and coat the bushes liberally,I have the same problem with bloody polybushes.

Thanks for the advice. As soon as I get a clear day, no work, no rain, I'll be onto it. 'Tis getting intolerable.

Squeaky suspension components

Does anyone have some advice to remedy squeeky suspension components?

WD-40 has limited effect only. Shocks and anti-rollbar links are new. I suspect the bushes on the wishbones may be the culprit.

Right now it sounds like an old cart or an aviary!
Thanks
