Re: Strange klonk/clank sound from front near side Mk1 1.6
Great news MM and blabkyb - I replaced the Anti-roll bar bushes last night and the klanks and knocks have completely disappeared. :-D Car sounds a million times better and dare I say it even feels more controlled and smooth over bumps and the usual pot-holes. Top advice guys. Absolute genius's. Easy...

Re: Strange klonk/clank sound from front near side Mk1 1.6
Hi Blackyb and MM, great advice - thanks a million. I'll check both the Anti roll-bar bushes and the drop links.
Sounds like a good plan and relatively straightforward.
I'll let you know how I get on. Much appreciated.

Strange klonk/clank sound from front near side Mk1 1.6
Hi folks. Long time no speak due to COVID and car being off the road for over 12 months. I'm really struggling to locate the cause of a strange klonk'/clank sound on my Mk5 Mk1 1.6. It is almost certainly originating from somewhere near the front near-side suspension area. It specifically happens wh...

Re: Mk1 1.6 Rocker cover gasket seal?
Perfect, thanks for the advice MM. As always much appreciated. I'll let you know how it goes.
P.S, How do I go about getting some of your Jiza Clean to get rid of the oil at the back of the engine (suspect I'll need to removed the coil pack assembly).

Mk1 1.6 Rocker cover gasket seal?
During the summer months I noticed a small oil leak from the back of the rocker cover/CAS area, which is causing an occasional drip on the floor. That's gotta be the CAS O Ring I thought? I decided to wait until the cars SORN'd for the winter before sorting. However, it now transpired upon closer in...

Goodridge brake hose rub slightly - any tips?
Hello...wondering if anyone has some simple advice/tips regarding recently fitted Goodridge braided brake hoses fitted to my MK5 Mk1. Essentially one side rubs very slightly against the tyre when in the fully locked position (i..e tight turning). I'm fairly sure I need to undo the hose and refit so ...

Re: Creepys Black-un - New Temp Gauge
As per MM's sound advice, I decided to fit a Water Temperature gauge as a matter of urgency. Relatively simple job to complete especially if you follow the existing menders post : http://www.mazdamenders.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=2481 Couple of Pics below, as I'm quite proud of the neat jo...

Re: Creepys new Black-un
Drove the Mansion the other day and had a good old chat with MM. Only problem being I've come away with a bucket list of Mods to do over winter :-) I'm just about to put an order in with Andrew at Autolink which includes a set of MeisterR Zeta-CRD coilovers, the brake conversion kit, and the fan mod...

Re: Fitting electric door mirrors to mk1

Re: Not so much a problem but a problem question perhaps!!
Yep thats about right, but for the sake of a pipe tight ar*e get it cut and fit one, as the rad cap gauge cannot be seen from the cab, and is more of a tool while working on the engine, and a talking piece, but personally i would not trust it sat on the rad for good.
