Re: Knocking

I would check the anti roll bar bushes first. I had a similar issue many years ago with a Mazda 323, and that was the issue.

Re: Front and rear drop links

Most likely issue is as blackyb pointed out, seized nuts on the old drop links. they are right in the salty spray line! If you have chance, give them a good clean up with a wire brush and a good soaking with a pentrating oil several times over a few days before you do the job. It may or may not help...

Re: Cross model fitment.

Unfortunately my insiurers will not cover the car if it has altered suspension and I am struggling to find the same Bilsteins that are fitted (I am fairly certain they were not factory fitted) The only thing Bilstein seem to sell themselves even is a complete set of springs and dampers, not the indi...

Re: Cross model fitment.

Thank you - I was just a bit concerned about the Autolink disclaimer -

"As it has not yet been TUV approved, this setup is sold for off-road and competition use only."

Does this exist for the earlier MKs or is it just the Mk3???

Re: Cross model fitment.

Definitely want to do all four corners, and thinking of Meisters, just need to save up a bit! I did notice that after I wrote the original that Bilsteins are yellow (and I think Konis may be gold rather than yellow - difficult to see on the various dealer websites).

Cross model fitment.

I need to fit a new Damper to my car (n/s rear is leaking) - and the ones fitted are not original, they are yellow, which makes me think they are likely to be Konis? Anyway, I have never been entirely happy with the ride in general, or the ride height in particular, so can anyone advise as to compat...

Yeah, the Lancia does look like it still needs a few odd minor tweeks to get it ready - I am sure you will have a great time, we always did!

Re: LeMans

We went to Le Mans a few times in the late 90's early 2000's. Loved it, never had a nice car to go in though.

Re: ICE issues

I am not an expert, however the issue is likely to be either the 'always on' power supply to the head unit (there will be two lives - one is via the accessories fuse and is clearly still OK - the other one is always on) - this is what gives the unit the poewr needed to remember the settings and thin...

Re: Mk 3 aircon

Thank you, I did think there should be one, as all my other cars that have had aircon have had a second fan for it, I haven't had a good furtle about under the bonnet, I can only see one fan, but as with most modern cars there are shrouds and plastic covers in all directions so there may well be a s...

Mk 3 aircon

Not really a problem, more of a query. Does a MK3 with Aircon have a dedicated fan like most cars?
Aircon on mine only works when the car is moving which would suggest to me that either there isn't an Aircon fan, or if there is it isn't working.
